'The Wing'
In 2002, PLH arkitekter, from Copenhagen, won the open international architectural competition ahead of 291 competitors. The judging committee agreed that PLH's proposal distanced itself unequivocally positively from the rest, among other things with the following comment:
'The building subordinates itself to the landscape and at the same time emphasizes the plateau with the view of the Maglevandfall and gives the preserved hotel with its history the air of a point de vue in the landscape.
The overall shape of the building with the curved and floating 'cliff wall' that draws and explains the landscape's topography from a distance is a clear and beautiful thought'……
Prior to the architectural competition, a communication competition was held. It was won by EXPO Møns Klint – a consortium consisting of film director Ole Bornedal, designer Johan Adam Linneballe, designer Troels Seidenfaden, architect Michael Bloch Honoré, advertising director Ulrik Heilman and geologist Stig Schack Pedersen.
The GeoCentre is built from the inside out. With defined exhibition prerequisites in place before the architectural competition is carried out, we have a house that is built on the premises of the communication vision. The result is an exhibition that plays on all the senses and scenographically imaginable elements.
Location
GeoCenter Møns Klint lies on itself Møns Klint. In the middle of the beautiful – and sometimes harsh – nature. The center is surrounded by the mythical Klinteskov to the south, west and north. To the east – only a dozen meters from the building – comes Møns Klint. A drop of 100 meters down to the beach bears witness to the time from Denmark's birth.
Her Majesty Queen Margrethe is patron of the GeoCenter Møns Klint.

We mediate
GeoCenter Møns Klint has been one of the 2009 Danish educational activity centers since 16.
What is a knowledge-pedagogical activity centre?
VPAC stands for VidensPædagogische AktivtetsCentre, which are state-supported experience centers where children and adults gain knowledge and insight into nature, history and science through educational and challenging activities for all the senses.
With its dissemination activities, knowledge education activity centers help to build a bridge between research and the teaching sector and "Family Denmark" in the broadest sense.
Learning through active participation
The VPACs contain both exhibitions and offer a wide range of dissemination activities of international standard. Activities that are based on the active participation of children and adults - and on new communication techniques. This makes the communication dynamic, far-sighted and exciting!
New forms of learning – in close interaction with the education sector
A significant part of the activities is aimed at teaching in primary and secondary schools. Teaching takes place in an informal learning environment - in close interaction with the education sector.

The areas where GeoCenter Møns Klint is established, owned by the Norwegian Nature Agency. The parties have entered into a use and operating agreement that defines the framework for the collaboration. The agreement entails, among other things, that GeoCenter Møns Klint must oversee the distribution of the areas owned by the Danish state on Høje Møn, including Møns Klint, Klinteskoven and the grassland areas Jydelejet and Høvblege.
The Norwegian Nature Agency is still responsible for managing the areas, but GeoCenter Møns Klint has therefore taken over the primary dissemination of the areas.
