ORDER PRE-COURSE

If you have special wishes for courses, camp school, special classes or anything else, don't hesitate to contact us. We have the option of tailoring a visit to suit your wishes and the subjects the class works on at home at school.

How does a visit take place?

On arrival at the GeoCenter you will be received by a nature guide who will meet you in front of the main entrance. Here you can talk to the guide about any wishes, special considerations, lunch etc. The courses last between 1,5 – 2 hours, some 3 hours. In addition to the course itself, the students experience the exhibition together with the teachers, where they have to sense, compete and experiment. You can also watch 3D films in the cinema, where you can reserve seats in advance.

What should we bring?

Bring practical clothes for any weather situation as well as a packed lunch, drinks, sensible footwear and possibly stationery. Students are welcome to bring their mobile phones (if it fits with the school's rules), but this is not necessary in relation to the courses.

What does it cost?

The price is DKK 95 per student. Two teachers per class are free. Courses lasting 3 hours cost DKK 142,50/student. Entrance, materials, teaching and assignments are included in the price. For classes that order several courses, a 50% discount is given on subsequent courses on the same day. You pay for a minimum of 15 students per progress. Note: For Climbing in the Treetops there is an additional price of DKK 1.000 per person. class (21-28 students) for the climbing instructor.

Can we get a grant?

Vordingborg Municipality provides a subsidy of 50% for classes from here.

How can we prepare?

Before you come to visit, it may be a good idea to work on relevant topics. You can download a teacher's guide to the exhibition here. You can also take a closer look at our learning portal: www.jordihovedet.dk. Here you can find a lot of material, articles and assignments, as well as download the school newspaper Jord i Hovedet. In addition, we can send you tasks that the students can solve on their way through the exhibition for a more focused and targeted experience.

What do we do with transport?

Public transport on Møn is unfortunately lacking. Most schools therefore rent a bus. You can e.g. contact Fladså Turist.

Can we store bags and luggage?

When you arrive, your nature guide can indicate a place to store bags and luggage.

Where can we eat our packed lunches?

There are outdoor tables and benches in front of the GeoCenter, where you can eat your own food. You can also take your packed lunch with you to the beach. In the event of bad weather, you can agree with your nature guide that you eat in the school room, if there is room. Unfortunately, it is not possible to eat brought food in the café or on the café's terrace.

Can we tailor our own visit?

Yes, you can. We can easily adapt both courses and camp school packages to your needs and wishes. You are welcome to contact us and we can tailor your visit together.

Which grade levels are the courses aimed at?

Most courses are aimed at 3rd - 4th grade and up to upper secondary school level. We adapt the individual courses according to grade levels and prerequisites. From grades 0 to 2, we recommend the Experience the Birth of Denmark course, which can be adapted for the very youngest.

What about special classes and students with special needs?

We are visited by many special classes. Here, the Experience the Birth of Denmark course is particularly suitable, as it can easily be adapted to different needs. The GeoCenter is equipped with wide corridors and lifts, so e.g. wheelchair users can easily get around. There is also a boardwalk along the cliff where people with poor walking ability can get out and enjoy the view. Access to the beach is unfortunately not possible for students with walking difficulties, as it is via a long staircase.

We fulfill "Common goals"

All of our education offers for primary schools are based on the Ministry of Education's Common Goals.

We are VPAC classified
