The feathered fighter of the skies and the world's fastest bird of prey! The peregrine falcon has fascinated nature enthusiasts throughout history, and with its enormous speed and impressive ability to catch flying birds, it has a very special place in the animal world.

On Møns Klint The peregrine falcon also has a very special history. The last pair in Denmark bred here before the peregrine falcon became extinct as a Danish breeding bird in 1972. It was not until 30 years later that it returned again. Today the peregrine falcon breeds in several places in Denmark – but it all ended and began again with Møns Klint.

Peregrine falcon expert and DOF caretaker Niels Peter Andreasen has been following the peregrine falcon for more than 45 years, and he knows the peregrine falcons inside and out. Møns Klint better than anyone else. At the lecture you can hear him tell the fascinating history of the peregrine falcon and gain insight into the situation of the peregrine falcon today.

After the lecture, you can come out into the countryside and experience the wild and wonderful world of the peregrine falcon on a guided peregrine falconry tour, where Niels Peter will talk along the way and share his great knowledge about the falcons' life at the cliff.

The lecture is from 13-14 pm and the peregrine falconry tour is from 15-17 pm.

Please note that the lecture takes place at GeoCenter Møns Klint. It therefore requires an entrance ticket or season pass. Registration is not necessary.

The peregrine falconry tour from 15-17 pm is free and does not require registration.
