GO ON A DISCOVERY AMONG THE MANY FOSSILS FROM THE DANISH CRETACEOUS.
What fossils can you come up with Møns Klint? How do they look? And what do the fossils tell us about the life and the drama that unfolded in the Cretaceous Sea 70 million years ago. years ago? Go on a discovery among lampreys, sea urchins, rattle stones, chalk sponges, bryophytes and giant oysters. You can also see some of the Cretaceous's very special fossils, named Danekræ. It is, among other things, a possible arm hook from a giant octopus, and a tooth from the giant sea lizard mosasaurus – also known as the T-rex of the sea! Afterwards, you can walk down the 497 steps to the beach and perhaps find your very own 70 million. years old fossil!
Danekræ is a counterpart to Danefæ, and denotes natural history objects found in the ground of exceptional scientific or exhibition value. Danekræ belongs to the state and must be handed over to the Museum of Natural History for a small fee.
