ABOUT GEOCENTER MØNS KLINT
GEOCENTER MØNS KLINT LIVES BY COMMUNICATING NATURE AND SCIENCE.
GeoCenter Møns Klint is therefore interested in both natural science and didactic research. We have, among other things, worked together with various universities in Denmark, Germany and Portugal.
In 2012, we planned and carried out a dinosaur excavation in Greenland, which led to a number of geological and palaeontological research projects at the universities involved and also to a dinosaur exhibition, which was exhibited at the GeoCenter Møns Klint for 10 years, until 2023.
This dinosaur exhibition also became the starting point for a multi-year didactic research project, i
collaboration with the Institute for Science Didactics (IND) at the University of Copenhagen, where then PhD student Eliza Jarl Estrup investigated exhibition design, i.a. in relation to the dissemination of fossils and geology, but also in relation to the scientific competence of the population (scientific literacy).
If you want to read more about the results and conclusions from the didactic research project, including the use of palaeontology and dinosaurs in professional communication, you can find her PhD blog via this link:
