In 2025 was Møns Klint included in the UNESCO World Heritage List
Møns Klint shows us how the ice age glaciers shaped the landscape. The cliff reveals how the earth was pushed and bent as massive glaciers moved over it. As one of the world's most complete and accessible examples of this glacial tectonic process, it provides Møns Klint invaluable insight into how ice has shaped our planet.
Therefore, it was Møns Klint officially inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 13, 2025. This happened at the 47th meeting of the UNESCO Committee, which was held in Paris.
With the admission, the Møns Klint and the underlying hill landscape of Høje Møn as some of the world's most preserved nature, and as a unique example of ice age landscape formation.
Behind the application to become a world heritage site are Vordingborg Municipality and Geocenter. Møns Klint in collaboration with the Danish Nature Agency, the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Agency for Palaces and Culture.
